Workers' Compensation
The law requires that all workers' compensation claims be reported promptly. If you know that an accident occurred, but do not report it, the State could impose a per diem penalty.
To assure fast claim service, it is important that in the event of a workers' compensation loss you complete the standard report form known as the "Employer's First Report of Injury," located in the claims section of the binder that includes your insurance policies. If you do not have this form, please contact Mark Tagliaferro at Coffey & Company, Inc. for a copy.
You should report all workers' compensation losses to our office as soon as possible, but never later than ten (10) days after the accident occurs. Do not wait for medical reports and bills. They can be forwarded to us at a later date. Please keep copies of all reports and bills for your records.
Any correspondence or questions concerning reported workers' compensation claims should be referred to our office so that we can intercede with the insurance company on your behalf.
